Asking What Day It Is ¿Qué día es hoy? Use this exact question to ask 'What day is today?'. The question marks go at the beginning (upside down) and the end. Answering the Question Hoy es [day of the week]. Always start your answer with 'Hoy es...' which means 'Today is...'. Then, say the day. Days are Not Capitalized lunes, martes, miércoles... In Spanish, we do not use a big letter to start the days of the week, like we do in English. They always start with a small letter.
