Forming the Future and Conditional Tenses
For both tenses, use the full infinitive of the verb and add the ending. (e.g., hablar + é = hablaré; comer + ía = comería).
This rule applies to all regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. Irregular verbs (tener -> tendr-, poder -> podr-, hacer -> har-) use a different stem but the same endings.
The WEIRDO Formula for Subjunctive
Clause 1 (Wish, Emotion, Impersonal Expression, Request, Doubt, Ojalá) + 'que' + Clause 2 (Different Subject + Verb in Subjunctive).
Use this formula to know when to switch from the indicative to the subjunctive mood. When discussing career wishes, phrases like 'Espero que...' or 'Quiero que...' trigger the subjunctive.
