Grammar Rules & Patterns
The Question Sandwich: ¿...?
In Spanish, questions must start with an upside-down question mark (¿) and end with a regular one (?).
Use this for every single question you write or say. Think of the words in your question as the filling in a sandwich, with the question marks as the bread on both sides.
Verb Endings for 'Yo' and 'Tú'
For -AR verbs: 'Yo' (I) verbs end in -o. 'Tú' (You) verbs end in -as.
When you are talking about yourself ('yo'), take off the -AR and add -o (hablar -> hablo). When you are talking to a friend ('tú'), take off the -AR and add -as (hablar -> hablas).
