Regular Preterite Conjugation -AR verbs: -é, -aste, -ó, -amos, -asteis, -aron. -ER/-IR verbs: -í, -iste, -ió, -imos, -isteis, -ieron. Use these endings for most verbs to describe completed actions in the past. Remember that -AR and -ER verbs have identical 'nosotros' forms in the present and preterite, so context is key. -IR verbs have a stem change in the third person singular/plural if they are stem-changing in the present tense (e.g., dormir -> durmió). Irregular Preterite Verbs: Ser & Ir Both 'ser' (to be) and 'ir' (to go) have the exact same irregular preterite conjugations: fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fuisteis, fueron.
